Canine DNA Profile (ISAG SNP Panel & PPG Panel)
A DNA Profile—also known as a DNA Fingerprint or Unique Identity Profile—is your dog’s permanent genetic ID. It’s unique to each dog, stays the same for life, and is the gold-standard foundation for accurate parentage verification and trusted breeding records.
Orivet’s Premium SNP DNA Profile is produced under ISAG 2020 guidelines, analysing over 230 SNP markers to generate an internationally comparable profile with >99.99% reliability. Every profile is securely stored in the Orivet DNA database, making future parentage checks faster and simpler.
What it’s used for
- Parentage verification: Confirm parentage for routine matings, external stud services, and complex scenarios such as multi-sire litters.
- Full Breed Profile included: A DNA Profile is automatically included at no additional cost with every Orivet Full Breed Profile.
- One-time test, lifetime value: Ideal for any breeding dog to protect pedigree integrity and reduce disputes.
For selected breeds (available on request), this profile may also help resolve certain single-parent cases. You’ll also receive a complimentary genetic diversity/heterozygosity summary to better understand your dog’s genetic variation.
Sample collection compliance
For multi-sire submissions or kennel club confirmation, approved independent collection is required: samples collected by a veterinarian or Orivet-approved agent, with microchip ID verified.

How It Works
Step 1: Activate your Kit
After you have placed your order online and received your testing kits in the mail, login to your account to activate your swab/s. Be sure to assign them to the relevant prepaid DNA test available in you breeder portal.
Step 2: Collect your Samples & Send
Pinch the cheek of your animal around the swab bristle heads tightly, then twist and swirl for 10 seconds. Let the samples dry for 10-15 minutes before popping them in the supplied reply-paid envelope and sending them to us.
Step 3: Review your results
Within 3-4 weeks your results will be available. Depending on the tests you have purchased this can reveal detailed health, trait and behavioural insights, identify breed makeup, confirm parentage and more.
